A Cambridge-based artist who has developed an individual style, Sue works as a painter from her home studio.
Sue’s practice explores her response to the natural landscape drawing inspiration from this ever-changing environment. With an intuitive use of colour, Sue loves to work in a variety of media to express movement, light and reflections. Through gestural strokes of her palette knife, building layers and texture, she creates vivid images that capture the essence of being within the landscape. To the viewer Sue’s paintings convey a fusion of vibrant colour with a feeling of sensitivity.
From an early age, creativity and the arts have always played an important role in Sue’s life. A pivotal period was the time she spent studying for a BA (Hons) Art & Design degree in Brighton. Having graduated in 1988, Sue worked in other sectors before returning to her artistic roots about 10 years ago to develop a career as a professional artist.
Sue is a member of Cambridge Open Studios and Cambridge Creative Network, and she regularly exhibits at galleries and art events across the region. Sue is represented by The Darryl Nantais Gallery, Linton. Her clients include both private and corporate collectors. Over recent years Sue has been building her business, and getting known for her artistic talent.
