Half term over, and the end of a busy week. Deadline for all artwork images, adverts and copy for the Asthma UK House & Garden Fair brochure. Everything is in on time and sent over to our designer helping us with putting the brochure together – Dowie+Co. Proofing through next week then hopefully sign off to printers by 9 March deadline.
I’ve also been working on a new series of small ink & watercolour artworks based on countryside landscapes around the River Cam, as well as some abstract collage mixed media artworks based on a continuing theme of the sea. More soon…
My Handmade Originals greeting cards have been selling well at Williams Art gallery in Cambridge through January, so I’ve made some more and re-stocked the gallery this week. The cards are all mini original pen & water colour paintings mounted on cards or passepartout cards complete with envelopes. Each card is individually made either to be used as a card to send, or you could frame them. Look out for my new selection of cards at Williams Art, priced at £3.50 each. My Handmade Originals are also available at Jane’s Frames, Station Road, Histon, and The Darryl Nantais Gallery, High Street, Linton near Cambridge.
In my last blog I wrote about my involvement with the Asthma UK House & Garden Fair, and that I will also have a stand showing my artwork this year. This will be a great preview for forthcoming exhibitions in 2012, in particular, the Cambridge Open Studios exhibition in July which I have registered for this year. After a successful exhibition at the Artists’ Marquee at Burwash Manor in 2011, I will be exhibiting there again this year for Cambridge Open Studios.
One of the commitments I have in addition to my painting is being on the committee of the Asthma UK House & Garden Fair. This one-day charity event is held annually in May at Chilford Hall, Linton, Cambridge. This year the Fair will be on Tuesday 15th May 2012 10am – 4pm. This is actually my 7th year on the committee, and finally I have been persuaded to take a stand at the Fair to exhibit my artwork. It’s a lovely event with a great atmosphere – we have around 60 stands selling a wide range of goods for the home and garden, and we raise lots of money for Asthma UK. It will also add a new dimension to be exhibiting my work this year. Will keep you posted on this over the next few months leading upto the Fair.
