New artworks at Jane’s Frames

January 29 2012

I have some new artworks on show at Jane’s Frames – 8b Station Road, Histon, Cambridge CB24 9LQ. Open Tues – Sat.  There are framed and unframed paintings, as well as my Handmade Originals greetings cards available to purchase from Jane’s lovely recently refurbished gallery space.  She runs a successful picture framing business, so for any unframed pieces she can provide her excellent framing service.  I have been getting my artwork framed by her for many years, I can highly recommend her!

Gerard Richter: Panorama

January 5 2012

Glad I made it to Tate Modern before the Gerhard Richter: Panorama exhibition closes this coming weekend.  Huge abstract canvases juxtaposed with smaller almost photo-realist artworks certainly shows the skill and diversity of this artist in his approach to painting.  Extremely thought-provoking and questioning as I walk through the various galleries of this exhibition.

Grayson Perry: The Tomb of the Unknown Craftsman

January 3 2012

Just been to the British Museum exhibition curated by Grayson Perry.  This is a stunning exhibition!  He has arranged his work alongside such a variety of wonderful artefacts from the museum’s collections.  There is so much story-telling and meaning in his own sculptural pieces and wall hangings.  I have learned a lot from this exhibition and hope to apply this to my own art work.
