Spring Light on the Cam (Triptych) - SOLD

“Spring Light on the Cam” (Triptych) has been sold to a corporate client! I am delighted that the triptych now hangs in the Residential Boardroom at Cheffins, estate agents in Cambridge. This is a landscape painted across three box canvases inspired by the River Cam at Grantchester. Initial sketches for this painting were made on an early Spring morning. The bright sunlight shone through the pollarded trees on the river bank casting beautiful reflections and colours in the calm river water.

Day-trip to the Sea

October 11 2011

Last minute decision this morning – I’m off to the coast to do some sketching, and start developing ideas for a new series of works on the theme of water – the sea and coastline. Just catching the last of this Indian summer, the last of the warm sun. Parked the car at Burnham Overy Staithe and walked out along the path towards Gunhill and the sea. As I sketch sitting on the sand dunes overlooking the beach, the high tide is starting to ebb, slowly revealing the sand banks, creating beautiful swirling patterns of damp sand and shells on the beach. The dune grasses rustling in the on-shore breeze. This is an incredibly special place for me…
