Exhibition planning for 2011

January 16 2011

I have been selected to to exhibit at The Artists’ Marquee at Burwash Manor, Barton, Cambridge, with a group of artists. Just had our first meeting to plan the forthcoming exhibition on the weekends in July 2011. I was considering participating in Cambridge Open Studios which also runs during July, but as I did Open Studios last summer I felt it would be good to be part of a different exhibition. I really enjoyed my involvement with the 12 Artists of Christmas exhibition at Burwash in December 2009, and some of the people I exhibited with then are also participating in this forthcoming summer exhibition, including new people too!

The other element that attracted me to do this exhibition is that a charity called AccessArt will be holding workshops at Burwash Manor throughout the month of July – Festival of Making – alongside our Artists’ Marquee exhibition. Infact they are holding workshops from March onwards for both adults and children. AccessArt is a charity committed to furthering the advancement of education in the visual arts. Their website www.accessart.org.uk looks really interesting and I am keen to find out more about them. I might do some of the adult workshops myself!
Looking forward to next meeting…
